The best beaches in Split

If you spend few days of your vacation is Split, you will most definitely get a wish to take a swim in Adriatic sea. Luckily, Split has so many beaches that you are never truly far away from one. To make your search easier, we made you a small guide on beaches in Split. Most of them are placed south-east form city's harbor, all the way to Podstrana village, and usually you can find accommodation by the beach. Rest of them can be found on the bottom of Marjan mountain and most of them are rocky with pine woods around and connected with buses.

Bacvice beach

Bacvice beach is the most popular beach in Split and it is placed 1 kilometer form city center. It can get pretty crowded, and not only in the suntanning area, but in the water, too! Many locals are playing picigin there, which is a local game of keeping the small ball up in the air as much as you can with your hands. Ovcice beach

Just 5 minutes of walk from Bacvice beach, you can find next one called Ovcice. It is a lot smaller pebble stone beach which is popular among locals and tourists. You can rent deck chairs and parasols, take a shower after swimming and there is a small children playground with trampoline and few swing sets. There is a restaurant, too, called Ovcice, like the beach and above is a huge parking lot in the middle of pine wood. Keep in mind that this parking can get pretty crowded during summer season. Ovcice beach is a part of local neighborhood called Bacvice, which is a perfect spot for renting apartment and rooms.

Bene beach

Bene beach is positioned far away from living area, in the west side of Marjan forest. However, you can easily find it: just sit on a bus line number 21 and wait until last bus station. When you come there, you will notice pine wood around you with tennis playgrounds, football playground and many more. Beach is made out of concrete but entrance is sandy and with pebbles. Like all the other beaches, this one too has showers, changing rooms, beach bars, but it is different cause of all the pine wood around you and cause of a view: you can see Kastela, Ciovo island and Trogir.

 
 
 

Firule

Five minutes walk from Ovcice beach, you will see a small popular beach bay Firule. It is widely popular among locals and tourists and it is adjusted for families with small children cause of shallow entrance and sand. You can not rent deck chairs or parasols but there is a beach bar. It is placed in a part of city called Firule, which is a perfect spot for finding rooms or apartments.

 
 
 

Trstenik beach

Trstenik beach is placed in a part of the city called the same, with few hotels, apartments and other kinds of accommodation around. It is a pebble stone beach with crystal clear blue sea. It has showers, changing rooms, life guards, and deck chairs and parasols for renting. Only flaw is that it has got no natural shade, but it has few beach bars around if you wish to take a rest from the sun and enjoy a cold beverage. It is 4 kilometers away from city centre, but you can take a walk from Firule beach and get to it in 15-20 minutes.

Znjan beach

Znjan beach is the newest beach in Split. It is actually a kilometer long shore with many bays with pebble stone beaches and rock beaches with one sand beach. This complex of beaches shortly became most popular beach in Split cause of it's crystal blue sea and a huge parking lot so you can take a car ride to it. It is also very family oriented.
