Advices for visiting Split beaches

In the moment when summer temperatures in Europe reach up to 40 C degrees, Mediterranean sea is one the most favorite destinations for all europeans. Luckily for Split, it has a lot of beaches on which you can enjoy your time on hot sun and warm sea, whether you're a tourist or local. However, trip to a beach may not be as simple as it seems. Beach crowds and traffic jams and shortage of parking lots can be a real problem and mess up your holiday plans. So, we prepared a few tips so you can enjoy your vacation without stress.

Advices for visiting Split beaches

1. Depending on where have you stayed in Split, we advise you, if possible, to take a walk to a beach. 10-15 minutes of walk is not much and it can save you a lot of trouble.

2. Finding a parking spot can represent a difficulty. When going to a beach like Žnjan in the east part of the city, it won't be much of a problem, just like with beaches beneath Marjan mountain. However, if you're planning to visit some of the city centre beaches like Bacvice of Firule, parking spot can be a huge problem.

3. Avoid sun when it is at it's most dangerous! Go to a beach early in the morning (easy to find a parking spot, sea is much clearer and there won't be a huge crowd) or after 17 pm. If you're going to a beach between 11am and 17pm, you can expect harsh sun which can give you sunburns so make sure you have a SPF protection cream.

4. One more positive thing about going to the beach as late as sunset begins is that it won't be as crowded and you will find a parking spot much easier, but that doesn't mean that you should lay out in the sun for too long. Find some cool place with shade or rent a deck chair and parasol.
